This project reinforces the importance of architecture and its effect on the natural environment. Preserve, Catalyst and Purify are educational and research facilities which aim to improve the water quality in Venice and its surrounding islands by educating the people of Venice on ways they can improve their daily practices to improve water quality and by paving the way for research into solutions to Venice’s water pollution problem. They respond to the challenges of their natural environment and incorporate elements of Venice's rich history to solve the environmental issues Venice faces.
