The world is struggling with global warming, rising sea levels, air pollution and animal extinction. Addressing these issues and bringing them to the forefront of the design was then paramount. This year saw the creation of the Flora and Fauna Research Centre, a space where native plants are grown, marine life is nursed back to health and research is undertaken on the quality of the Venetian lagoon. To support this centre and its agency, lies The Hive, a small-scaled project with an abstraction of a live beehive to enhance the bee population, and in turn, the world.
