Everyone deserves to have the opportunity to have a long and healthy life. All over the world there is an increase in the ageing population especially in Venice. La Zona Protetta is located on the northern part of Venice, aims to act as a place that promotes healthy ageing, supporting dependency to encourage rehabilitation and independent living. With the integration of a small childcare nursery, Reggio Emilia in the compound of La Zona Protetta, inter-generational play groups could be an underrated solution to managing Italy’s ageing population. The goal of La Zona Protetta is to create a safe place for the elders and to build a community and place where they can feel safe and free.
