Rewind.

This space will play home to Adelaide’s very first listening bar and its largest vintage clothing store which is sure to create a buzz around the CBD. Adelaide’s rich culture in music and fashion will be fused together to create a radiant space for men and women alike to socialise, have a drink, discover new music and browse reclaimed one-of-a-kind clothing pieces. The interior is intentionally versatile in its design in order to successfully meet the functional needs of a retail clothing store, bar and event space for events such as clothing drops, runway shows and other specialised brand events.

Upon entry, you are squeezed through an arched vestibule and then released into the space where you are confronted with vast ceilings and a sizeable suspended ceiling structure that aims to create spatial division without solid walls. Vertical slats are also used to separate certain areas psychologically and assist with acoustic considerations. Intervened interior tactics were key in maintaining the heritage listed aspects of the building whilst bringing in a ‘modernised-vintage’ aesthetic. The muted materials palette of predominantly limestone and polished concrete was intentionally utilised so to not distract the eye of the occupant from the merchandise, as well as bring new-life to the heritage listed marble.
