Ephemeral Venice is a palliative care home and chemotherapy clinic in the heart of Castello, Venice. The program has a surprising and lighthearted companion, that is Venetian street cats. Use as a therapeutic tool, the idea to include cats in a palliative care home aims to bring a sense of play and whimsy to a solemn scheme. The importance of life, death and burial in the context of Venice became the underpinning for my year long project and branched into further areas of interest such as water as a means of portraying grief and understanding the experience of being unwell.
